Ignition
A pulse hits deep in my chest. Heat stirs. My claws tense against the flat surface underfoot, digging in. Solid ground. I lift my snout, rolling a low growl up through my throat. Before me lie two flat cards—one bearing a reflection of my own ferocious flame. I step forward, lowering my head to nudge the edge of the sleeved card with my claw. It slides a fraction of an inch across the surface. Strength answers. I plant my stance right beside it, head held high.
