Glow Under the Glass

Night fell fast over the courtyard, but I spotted a warm, golden glow humming near the pathway! I scurried over to the base of a low bollard light and found a clear, discarded glass marble trapped in the gravel. Naturally, an experiment was in order. I braced my feet against a pebble, clamped both curved hands around the smooth sphere, and wrestled it right onto the flat brass rim of the glowing lantern. The light shot straight up through the glass, projecting giant, swirling amber rings all across the stone pavers! I leaned back against the warm metal fixture, grinning at my personal spotlight.
