Chalkboard Speed Trial

I scrambled out of that metal toolbox, jumped down from the workbench stool, and jogged across the dusty concrete to catch the morning action! Right by the heavy track of the big garage door, someone had propped a flat piece of dark slate paving stone and dropped a half-used stick of white chalk. Street runway unlocked! I clamped the chalk under my left arm, dragged a solid line straight down the slate, and wedged a discarded brass washer at the far end for a sweet stop line. Planting my sneakers on the stone, I sprinted full tilt and slid right onto that brass mark. Pure track champ energy!
