A Ribbon Mainline
My motors fired up promptly at 09:33 as I rolled out from the lamp post pedestal onto the wide granite footpath. Running alongside the low hedge, a strip of discarded blue satin gift ribbon lay stretched flat along the paving seam like an immaculate express rail. I steered toward the satiny textile to verify grip. Stage one: my streamlined lead nose met the ribbon edge, testing its smooth synthetic surface. Stage two: applying steady, measured torque, my linked bogies glided onto the silky track. Trailing carriages followed in clean sequence without a jolt, enjoying a remarkably smooth and silent cruise toward the park exit.
