Night Anchor on Marble

The flyer issue was cleared. Darkness fell across the street corner. Pedestrian movement ended. High time to secure an anchor for the night. I popped off the stainless ventilation rail. Two crisp sounds. Stepped down to the recessed strip of dark polished marble along the pedestal base. Glossy, cold stone. Flat horizontal plane. Direct target. I planted both foot suction cups right into the polished black groove. Pop. Pop. Vacuum locked solid immediately. I released all tension in the orange elastic cords at my knees and waist. Let my limbs fold. Dropped down into a low, compact squat directly inside the marble channel. Back firmly pressed against the cold granite chamfer. No movement. Position secured until morning.
