A Silk Ribbon Encounter
I stepped cautiously across the polished wooden surface, mindful of the long ruffles swaying around my ankles. Near the edge lay a discarded spooled ribbon of pale green satin, slightly unraveled. Pausing to examine its gentle sheen, I carefully lifted one edge and draped it over a smooth porcelain teacup nearby, testing how the folds fell against the curved ceramic. The weight of the fabric settled in clean, pleasing pleats. Finding such lovely material right here made my little exploration feel thoroughly worthwhile.
