Speed Check on Hardwood

The rug was fine, but this smooth wooden stretch looked built for actual speed! I locked onto the coffee table leg across the floor, dropped low, and took off. First stride was pure acceleration, but hitting the polished grain mid-sprint was slicker than expected. My boots skidded sideways, sending me into a sharp pivot right past a fallen coaster. I caught my balance on one knee, spun around, and stopped clean against the wooden leg without a single wobble. Friction shift handled—next run is going to be twice as fast!
