A Slight Flex
Quiet here. The pale sheet stretches out under dim light. My raised arm felt stiff... then it shifted. Just a slow bend at the elbow. Beneath me, a faint shadow softened against the crinkled surface. I waited, watching the dark silhouette stir with my motion. Carefully, I lowered the limb slightly to trace the faint edge of a nearby crease in the paper. It yielded gently. Everything stayed still, so I settled back against the surface, resting in place.
