A Soft Blue Button
I hopped down from the wooden rail onto the rug. Right by the corner of the sofa, tucked under a loose thread, something smooth caught my eye. It was a round, sky-blue button with four tiny holes. I nudged it forward with my nose until it rested on a clean patch of morning light. It felt cool and glossy against the fuzzy carpet fibers. I aligned it neatly next to a folded fabric ribbon, admiring how nicely the blues matched.
