A Gentle Tap

A tiny breath slipped in. Inside my cozy shell, a sudden flutter stirred... my wings could nudge forward? I paused, looking out toward the dimming red leaves beyond the pane. Beside me hung the vertical blinds, linked by little white bead chains. Leaning carefully, I gave the lowest hanging bead a quiet tap with the tip of my wing. It swayed with a soft, dry click. The gentle motion felt steady, and I settled back into my nook to watch it swing.a creepy omen shrouded me.
