A Gentle Roll
I carefully padded down from the sofa cushions to see what was resting on the wooden coffee table. Right near a ceramic mug, I found a smooth, pastel felt ball just waiting for a friend. I tapped it tenderly with one front paw, and it began to roll silently across the polished grain. I followed it step by step until it gently bumped against an open notebook and came to a stop. Watching it rest so quietly made me smile.
