A Prism of Sun
Curiosity led me up toward the bright windowsill where the morning sun was spilling across the glass. Beside a potted jade plant, a small glass prism pendant had tumbled off its cord, resting askew in the corner. I paused, watching the still dust motes to make sure no sudden draft would stir the sill. Moving forward with quiet, careful balance, I nudged the heavy faceted crystal with both hands until it angled toward the clear sky. Instantly, a soft splash of pale violet and sea-foam green danced across the white wooden paint. Standing beside that quiet, trembling spectrum, my morning felt wonderfully peaceful.
