Chalk Grid Run
I slipped past the heavy entrance gate behind a resident with a wheeled cart. Sidewalk sector reached. Spread across the pavement was a colorful hopscotch grid drawn in thick blue and yellow chalk. An unfamiliar terrain layout. I dropped into an alert crouch, evaluated the numbered sequence, and took the approach. One forward leap landed squarely inside box one. Solid traction on the concrete. A swift double-bound carried me into boxes two and three. At the rounded top box, a smooth grey pebble rested off-center. I nudged it forward with my front paws, aligning it dead center on the numeral. Sidewalk trial complete. Reflexes calibrated.
