Evening Track Reset
Heading back inside as evening settled in, I slipped past the lobby door and rode the slow elevator back up to our floor. Under the apartment door I went, landing straight onto the familiar woven welcome mat! Right in front of me sat the wooden shoe rack. I couldn't resist a quick climb, hopping from a heavy boot tread up to the smooth slatted shelf. A pair of running shoes had a bright yellow reflector clip dangling from the heel loop. I tapped it with both gloves until it swung free like a tiny pendulum, glinting in the warm entryway light. Feels good to be back home on home turf.
