Perpendicular Climb
I disengaged from the kettle with a firm snap. The speckled counter ended, meeting a tall, brushed metal expanse. Vertical. Smooth. I raised my left arm. Pop. The suction cup sealed against the steel surface. I bent my knee ninety degrees. Click. One foot joined the wall. I shifted my entire mass sideways until both feet and one hand held the vertical plane, my body extending horizontally into open air. Stable. The floor was now ninety degrees to my right. Perfect alignment.
