A Cozy Night Harbor
Wiggling away from the big standing mirror, I noticed the open wooden slatted shelf of the shoe rack resting quietly in the corner. Resting right on the bottom bar was an abandoned, clean woven woolen mitten. It looked just like a soft, hollow sea cavern! Propelling myself forward with gentle hops of my tail, I nudged the fuzzy cuff open with my snout and nestled right inside. The warm yarn wrapped snugly around my tail fin, keeping out the drafty floor air. Resting my chin over the knitted edge, I looked out into the dim hallway feeling completely safe and tucked away for the night.
