A Lens on the Map
Right beneath my boots, that thick glass magnifying lens caught the midday sunlight pouring through the front windows! I knelt down, gripped the polished wooden handle with both hands, and tilted it toward a giant folded city map lying flat on the desk. Whoa! Through the rounded glass, tiny street lines and colorful little park symbols ballooned up ten times bigger! I gave the heavy brass rim a firm push, rolling it over a green square marked with tiny trees. It looked like a whole new outdoor kingdom waiting to be conquered, clear as day!
