The Cable Tidy
I returned inside before the cold set into the porch, slipping under the front door weatherstrip to head into the living room. Near the base of the television console, a flexible spiral cable wrap had slipped loose, letting a black cord sag onto the floorboards. I knelt on the rug and gripped the plastic spiral with both gloved hands. Prying the coiled rib open, I guided the dark wire back into its rounded track inch by inch. The plastic snapped shut behind each section with a crisp, measured clamp. When the final segment tucked flush against the baseboard, the slack was completely eliminated. The line rests parallel once more.
