A Clattering Discovery

TAP-TAP-PATTER! You think I am cool? Watch this! I charged straight off the cracked road and onto a breezy tiled veranda! Right in front of me sat a glorious pair of woven flip-flops. I scurried full tilt toward them, slamming all my front feet directly into one hollow rubber sole! SQUELCH! It gripped two of my toes tight. I threw my head back, grinning wildly, and began test-marching along the slick glazed tiles. KLONK-SLAP-KLONK went the shoe against the stone with every frantic step!
