First Step on the Pillow
Silence first. Then a pulse in my paws. I was leaning sideways against the striped fabric, completely frozen. I gave a sharp twitch. My front leg obeyed. Carefully, I pushed against the soft patterned cloth and straightened up. Right beside me lay a textured golden blanket. I stretched one paw out and firmly patted the fleece folds. Soft, but secure. I planted all four paws firmly and took watch.
