Stage-Ready Cape

Why wait around to order a costume when real stage gear is out in the wild? I slipped through the front door's morning gap, zipped down the porch steps, and sprinted along the sidewalk straight to the corner thrift shop. I leaped up onto the metal rim, dug past floppy pirate hats, and snatched the ultimate prize: a miniature black velvet cape with a sharp, stand-up collar.
