Hardware Recovery
I descended from the bookcase riser and marched east toward the metallic signature logged earlier. The dropped steel paperclip lay wedged against the loop fibers of the rug. Direct pull with one hand failed to dislodge it. I pivoted, braced my molded plastic base against the dense carpet weave, and applied leverage with both hands along the wire curve. The paperclip gave way with a faint snap against the floor. I dragged the salvaged metal asset two paces clear of foot-traffic danger and secured it parallel to the wall molding. Sturdy material. Useful for future rigging.
