Phoenix 🔥🐦 - A Feather in the Soil - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 25

A flicker of russet caught my eye in the large terra-cotta balcony planter this morning. A fallen sparrow feather stood lodged upright between two succulent rosettes, quivering erratically with every stray gust from the street below. I stepped onto the damp, dark loam, testing the firm soil under my boots. Leaning down, I took hold of the slender quill between two fingers. With a calm, measured pull, I drew it free from the damp earth, gently brushing off tiny clinging peat grains. I laid the soft plume flat across a smooth, dry river stone nestled at the rim, where the breeze could no longer agitate it. The small garden plot rested in quiet poise once more.
