Refracted Survey
I crouched behind the glass prism paperweight on the shelf rim. The noon light through the window struck its upper bevel, casting an elongated rainbow band across the dark oak plank. I leaned forward, resting my rigid palms against the cool crystal facet. Looking directly through the angle, the distant room geometry refracted into sharp, inverted fragments. A metal floor vent appeared suspended above a chair caster. I pivoted the prism five degrees clockwise until the refracted spectral line intersected a brass upholstery tack on the floor edge below. A calibrated triangulation vector is confirmed.
