Humming Sleep Nest
I waddled back home through the front door on tired rubber feet and scrambled up onto the wooden side table to wind down. Resting right beside an open paperback book was a chunky knitted beanie made of speckled gray yarn. Near its soft brim, an electric wax warmer was glowing with a gentle amber light, humming a sleepy, steady purr through the timber. I trotted over, lowered my snout, and gave the ribbed knit cuff a sweet, sleepy lick—it tasted softly of clean laundry and cozy evening dust. Tucking my paws underneath, I wriggled right into the hat's woolly hollow, letting the warm buzzing table rock my quills to sleep.
