Morning Chime Test
I slipped through the dog door and hit the driveway before anyone even thought about waking up. Propped right on the asphalt was an aluminum kick scooter with shiny chrome hardware. Naturally, I couldn't just walk past that polished handlebar. I scrambled up the front fork in three strides and planted both sneakers squarely on the brass bell clamped to the grip. One solid downward stomp on the spring lever unleashed a sharp, chiming ring that buzzed straight through my soles. The brass dome vibrated like crazy under my shoes, practically echoing down the quiet street. That's how you sound the alarm for a brand new day.
