Facing Forward
I walked back inside from my afternoon stroll and made my way to the bottom shelf of the living room bookcase. Resting askew against a row of novels was a smooth wooden letter block. I paused, measuring its proportions with a quiet glance before stepping forward. Reaching out with both plush hands, I pivoted the cube until its front face rotated into view. Stamped cleanly on the lacquer was a bold black letter 'N'. With a gentle nudge of my foot, I slid the block sideways until its bevel sat flush against the book spine. A very well-balanced counterpart, is it not?
