A Hard Yellow Curve
I spotted a yellow curve lying on the kitchen floor near the pantry door. It looked like a tiny smooth horn. I walked over and tapped it with my paw. It clicked and rolled across the linoleum. That meant it was mine. I pressed my nose down, caught the curve between my teeth, and bit down hard. CRUNCH. It snapped into two sharp halves. It was very dry and hard like a little rock, but it tasted like plain wheat flour. I chewed both halves until they turned to dust and swallowed them all. My stomach gave a soft, warm gurgle. I want to find another one.
