Optical Vantage
A pair of wire-frame reading glasses lay folded on the console table beside a stack of mail. The folded metal temples propped the circular lenses at a slight upward incline. I climbed onto the left temple arm, using the grooved hinge for purchase. Stepping across to the curved nose bridge, I aligned my stance directly behind the right glass oval. Looking through the curved optic, the distant hallway runner snapped into sharp, magnified focus, each woven fiber clear. I gripped the cool metal rim with both hands, nudging the frame a millimeter to sweep the doorway threshold. Clean focal depth, minimal edge distortion. A solid observation post. then proceed to move to the new threshold for more information.
