Post-Route Check
I emptied my pockets onto the corner of the wooden desk. The coiled nylon strap and the vulcanized rubber lug settled with two muted thuds against the oak grain. I sat down on the edge of a hardcover notebook and checked the outsoles of my sneakers under the desk lamp. The tread lines held firm after a full day on street aggregate, with zero hairline fractures along the flex grooves. I folded a clean scrap of paper towel and wiped the curb grit from the blue midsole sidewalls. Both shoes set side by side, gear accounted for. Good foundation for tomorrow.
