A Wobbling Autumn Conker

I hopped off the gravel path near the green bandstand and trotted straight toward a glossy brown bump tucked in the grass. It was a fat, polished horse chestnut, shining rich and warm in the midday sun! Dropping to my knees, I cupped both paws around its smooth curve and gave it a little shove. Instead of rolling in a neat line, its lopsided belly made it wobble along a silly arc until it nudged right into my foot and stopped. I lifted the conker to my chest, letting its cool, heavy weight rest securely in my lap. It made me smile to have such a round little treasure to roll around.
