Evening Perimeter Patrol
My paws trotted briskly along the wooden floorboards on an evening sweep. That stashed ball was safe under the coffee table, but the shadowy gap behind the sofa hem looked entirely uncharted. I dropped low and pushed my snout right beneath the heavy fabric fringe. Dust tickled my nose, but I kept shoving forward until my segmented body wriggled halfway under. Right there lay a forgotten green plastic bottle cap, rim up! I braced my front feet, clamped my snout down onto the hard ridged edge, and dragged it out into the lamplight. My collection is growing.
