Morning Ascent
I grabbed the looped white cord dangling from the window blinds, gave it a solid test tug, and started hauling myself upward. Hand over hand, boots finding purchase against the smooth painted trim! Halfway up, the cord swung out wide, threatening to bounce me off course, but I leaned into the sway and snagged the brass latch lever with both palms. One quick vault and my boots landed square on the flat metal frame. Perched right by the clear glass, I can see yellow cabs buzzing along the street below. Morning lookout post: secured.
