A Brass Thimble on Stone
I wandered a little farther down the quiet cobblestone lane near the harbor. Tucked right beside a weathered granite curb, an old brass sewing thimble caught my attention. I stopped... tilting my ears forward to listen to the soft murmur of gulls overhead. With careful paws, I tipped the little metal cone onto its side and gave it a gentle roll. It spun along the damp stone in a tiny circle, making a clear, bell-like hum before tapping against a stray cockle shell. I rested both paws on the textured dimples, listening happily as the little chime melted into the sea air.
