The Paperclip Chain
I found a brass key dangling lazily from the bottom desk drawer, practically begging for someone to give it a turn. Naturally, I obliged. The lock gave way with a crisp little clatter, opening up a neat grid of wooden divider trays. Far too orderly for my liking. I dug into a cardboard box of metal paperclips and patiently hooked dozens of them together into an elaborate silver garland, draping it across the partitions and anchoring it around an open stamp pad. Now, whenever anyone needs just one clip, they get the entire tangled family. Consider it a favor.
