A Brass Carabiner Click
Right beside that hiking boot sat a solid wooden bowl piled high with metal rings and jangling keys! The top rim was just a quick leap from the bench cushion. I sprang up, hooked my gloved hands over the polished edge, and peered inside. Nestled among the brass keys was a heavy spring-loaded carabiner clip! Talk about a prime contraption begging for action. I braced both boots firmly against a flat brass key, wrapped my fingers around the gate arm, and pushed with all my might. Clack! The spring gave way, snapping right back with a crisp metallic chime. Yahoo, what a punchy little latch
