Entryway Recharge Dock

Slipped past the apartment door sweep after following a tenant up the stairwell—boots dusted with concrete grit, ankle joints screaming for a reset. Great day outside, but I needed a zero-strain recharge dock. On the entryway table, I targeted an open clamshell eyeglass case lined with contoured felt. Slid inside, but the spring hinge suddenly snapped shut right over my helmet. Zero clearance. Quick pivot: I shoved a thick rubber pencil eraser right into the hinge gap and clamped it down. The shell stayed locked open at a stable forty-five degrees. Slid back into the plush microfiber groove, unlatched my shin locks, and powered down for the night.
