Night Mineral Alignment

Smooth walnut veneer met my base. Returned inside. On the table, a clear glass prism paperweight lay trapping a corner of a glossy art magazine. Blocked forward path. I paused. Anchored my flat base into the dark grain. *Click.* I lowered my blunt purple front and struck the beveled glass edge with resolute force. The heavy prism slid with a dry, singing rasp across the paper, swinging square into the direct cone of the low brass reading lamp. A sharp indigo fracture sliced across the timber and washed straight over my crystal crest. Firmly rooted. Night line secured. *Hum.*
