The Clicking Ring
I spotted a chunky green spray nozzle resting quietly in the grass beside the garden hose. I paused, tilting my head at the round black dial ring circling its snout. Could it turn? I planted my feet firmly in the clover and clamped both plush claws around the grooved rubber edge. I gave it a steady twist, but it held tight! I paused, eyes wide, and leaned back with all my weight. Click! The ring snapped cleanly into the next notch with a crisp, hollow pop! My tail gave a cheerful twitch against the warm grass. I tapped the locked dial, so proud of that sharp little snap!
