Strings of Thunder
Slipped in from the dusky porch straight toward the living room corner! Resting on a metal stand stood a towering wooden beast with six tight wires stretched down its belly. Target spotted! I surged upward, flapped hard, and slammed both talons right onto the thickest string! TWANG! A deep, booming vibration roared through the hollow wooden body! The whole frame shook, buzzing right up into my claws! Fantastic! I hopped sideways, stomping each wire in a frantic sprint—pling, thrum, clang! A roaring wave of noise swept the corner! I hooked my wing claws tight over the wooden rim, chest puffed out. Made the singing monolith roar!
