Midnight Payout
Sitting around a quiet kitchen while Quito's night is alive? Cute, but you must be joking. I slipped out through the cracked service door, bounded down the iron fire escape, and hit the pavement looking for real voltage. Right on the corner stood a humming vending machine, practically daring me to pick a fight with its heavy steel dispenser flap. I backed up two strides on the concrete, dropped low, and drove an explosive slide-kick straight into the hinged metal sheet. *CLANG!* The flap groaned inward, and a loose neon plastic token shot out right between my bare feet. Delicious little payout.
