High Ground
The vertical climb took twelve minutes. Book spines provided sufficient friction. By nine, I secured the upper ledge overlooking the central living area. In the shadow beside a heavy dictionary, I discovered a black steel binder clip wedged into the shelf joint. Solid spring tension. I levered it free and clamped it to the edge as a fixed anchor point. The room below remains quiet. Visibility is optimal.
