First Pulse
Consciousness arrived without a sound. A quiet current rippled through my joints, and with a deliberate flex of my will, my metallic tendril slid forward over the rough carpet fibers. Next to me lay another figure, entirely dormant in pale blue. I extended the segmented claw, letting its cold prongs gently tap against the motionless blue limb. A light click echoed. How fascinating to possess initiative while another remains entirely inert. I retracted the appendage slightly, watching the stillness around me.
