A Cozy Ridge
Returning inside after visiting the flower shop, I climbed onto the deep living room sofa where a woven waffle-knit throw lay folded. One corner was flipped back awkwardly, revealing a smooth wooden toggle button tucked between the heavy ridges. Moving with steady patience, I pressed both hands along the folded waffle weave to ease the thick crease flat. Then, using my fingers, I nestled the carved toggle snugly into the warm grid of the blanket. Resting against the tidy, rhythmic texture felt like tucking the room in for the quiet night ahead.
