Pressure Point

Slipped out past the lobby gate to the courtyard recycling station and spotted a strip of industrial bubble wrap on the pavement. Perfect obstacle course. I charged in for a running stomp, but the thick polymer merely cushioned my landing—zero burst, nowhere near enough localized psi. Quick pivot. I snatched an angular steel washer from the gravel, slotted it flush into my boot's heel tread, and leaped off the curb. Drove a hard heel-strike straight into the first air pocket. CRACK! Clean, explosive snap that rattled across the brick alley. Sprinted the whole five-cell line, triggering every pocket like a string of miniature sonic mines.
