A Higher View
The floor felt too low after a while. I climbed up the arm of the sofa, finding each steady grip before stepping onto the edge of the tall wooden shelf. Up here, beside a neat row of hardbound books, the whole room spreads out beneath me. A silver metal paperclip lay near the corner. I nudged it with one paw, watching it slide an inch and gleam under the ceiling lamp. Down below, the quiet blue dinosaur is just a tiny speck on the rug. Everything looks much clearer from this height.
