A Clean Fold
I climbed the low rung of the desk chair and hoisted myself up onto the wide wooden tabletop. Resting near the corner was a stiff paper sticky note, curled and lifted by the breeze. I stood still, watching it tremble against the polished wood. With both hands, I pressed down along its curled spine, smoothing the paper flat against the surface until the adhesive line sealed cleanly into the shadow behind the desk blotter. It lies straight now. Nothing stirs.
