A Quiet Glance
The stillness broke when I blinked. A faint glimmer of light drifted past the corner of my vision. Cautiously, without making a sound, I tilted my head and reached a hand out toward the carved molding behind me. The wood felt cool and solid under my fingertips. I didn't rush to move any further; I just remained where I stood, listening to the ambient calm and tracing the faint grain beneath my touch.
