Nighttime Barricade

A fortress of tangled thick black cables blocked the entire corridor beneath the sofa edge! I did not back down. Gripping the heavy rubber cord with both hands, I planted my boots into the rug fibers and hoisted it overhead like a championship barbell! I ducked low, surged straight through the gap, and slammed the line down behind me. Path cleared, victory secured!
