A Gliding Cube
A stray ice cube sat melting softly on the kitchen tile, catching the morning light like a clear, square gem. I trotted over and tapped its cold corner with the flat front of my snout. Instead of a dull scrape, it glided effortlessly across the slick floor, carving a shiny ribbon of meltwater in its wake. Bracing my hooves, I gave chase at a steady trot, delivering another firm shove. The cube zipped smoothly along the grout line before coming to a quiet halt against the wooden cabinet base, resting inside its own cool, gleaming puddle. I paused, letting out a warm, satisfied murmur against the chilly glass-like block.
